The Kiwanis Club of Champlain Valley presented awards to six local students at their annual Service Award Dinner in May. The awardees were honored for their work with a variety of organizations, clubs, and city departments, such as South Burlington Recreation and Parks. According to the local Kiwanis Club, the students’ efforts included “knitting hats for premature infants, organizing blood drives, helping a young amputee get an artificial hand, working on childrens’ activities at Shelburne Farms, fundraising for cancer research, science Olympiad club, tutoring, assisting at King Street youth center and much more.” L-R: South Burlington High School (SBHS) student Josie Ford, SBHS student Emma Tolan, Lieutenant Governor of Division 8 of the Kiwanis District of New England and Bermuda Elliot Curtin, Champlain Valley High School (CVHS) student Lindsea B.
