Boys Soccer

South Burlington 2, Colchester 1: Sammy Slamani scored with 12 minutes remaining to give South Burlington a 2-1 win on Saturday to wrap up the regular season.

The Wolves finished the regular season at 9-4-1 with the victory over the Lakers.

South Burlington also scored on a Colchester own goal and Ben Capano stopped four shots to earn the win.

The Wolves earned another victory on Wednesday with a 4-0 win over Burlington. Slamani, Tenzin Choedak, Nolan Antonicci and Spencer Baker all scored for South Burlington and Capano got the shutout with four saves.

Girls Soccer

Essex 1, South Burlington 0: South Burlington surrendered a goal late in the first half and could not find the equalizer as the team fell to Essex on Friday in the final game of the regular season.

The Wolves wrapped up the regular season with a 9-5 record.

Hannah Murray made four saves in goal for South Burlington. Yasmine Nsame stopped 10 shots for Essex, while Riley Fitzgerald had the lone goal.

Field Hockey

South Burlington 0, Colchester 0 (OT): In a battle of two of the top teams in Division I, South Burlington and Colchester battled to a scoreless tie in the final game of the regular season for the Wolves.

With the tie, the Wolves finish the season at 12-1-1 heading into the playoffs. The Lakers wrapped up the season at 11-0-3. The two teams will end up the No. 2 and 3 seeds in D-I.

Ainsley Hultgren had six saves to preserve the shutout for the Wolves.

On Tuesday, South Burlington beat Mount Abraham 6-1.

Girls Volleyball

South Burlington 3, Harwood 0: The South Burlington Girls Volleyball Team topped Harwood in three sets to wrap up the regular season on Thursday.

The Wolves finish the year at 10-4, beating Vermont Commons, Enosburg and the Highlanders 3-0 in the last three matches of the regular season.

Boys Volleyball

Champlain Valley 3, South Burlington 0: South Burlington fell to defending state champs Champlain Valley in three sets to wrap up the regular season on Thursday.

The Redhawks won the first set 25-15, took the second set, and then wrapped up the win with 25-11 win in the third set.

With the loss, the Wolves wrap up the regular season at 5-7.

Cross Country

The South Burlington Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams both ran to a fifth place finish at the NVAC Metro Division Championships at Missisquoi on Saturday.

Sam Valin was the top finisher for the Wolves, coming in seventh place in the boys’ race, and Emmett Edwards followed in eighth place.

Colin McKay (18th place), Trey Uttecht (28th place) and Owen Severance (40th place) rounded out the top five finishers for South Burlington.

Sierra FIsher came in ninth place in the girls’ race to lead the girls team, with Sierra Duffy following in 27th place. Jane Kakalec (35th place), Lauren Houchens (43rd place ) and Mercedes Weekes (44th place) rounded out the top five.
