Boys Lacrosse

On Tuesday, May 15, South Burlington pulled out an 8-6 road win over Middlebury. Calvin Hultgren (two goals and two assists), Nick Liscinsky (two goals and one assist), Joe Belk (two goals) and Cale Dubrul (one goal) paced the Wolves offense. Ryan Hockenbury was solid in net with 13 saves.
Three days later, a 6-3 lead after three quarters wasn’t enough as Burlington rallied in the fourth to take a 7-4 win over the Wolves. Hultgren had three goals and an assist and Ryan Hockenbury and Miles French combined for 10 saves.

The team travels to Colchester on May 25.

Track and Field

The South Burlington track and field team traveled to Middlebury College for a game on Wednesday, May 16. The girls placed fifth in a 10 team field. Diana Gregoire was the lone event winner for the Wolves on the girls side in the long jump event. The boys team placed eighth.

The Bobwhite Relays took place on Friday, May 18. South Burlington won the 4x100 meter with Lee, Steele, Agbesi, and Pedgeon. McKay, Hauman, Calcagni, and Edwards won the 4x800 meter.

On Saturday, the Wolves held the 40th Annual Iverson Relays. The Wolves won the 2-2-4-8 medley with a time of 4:18.33 (Kakalec, O’Brien, Lowensohn, Bolduc). Odessa O’Brien won the long jump with a length of 16-1, and Diana Gregoire won the Triple Jump with a jump of 34-10.

Their next meet is on May 26 at Essex High School.


On Saturday, May 19, the Wolves hosted the MMU Cougars and won 9-4. A five run sixth inning, led by Katie Cheung’s two doubles, three RBIs, and three hits propelled the Wolves to the win. Brianna Belisle and Ruth Croxford had multiple hit games for South Burlington. Aly Brady earned the win and struck out nine.

The team hosts Essex on May 24.


The Wolves earned a 4-2 win over MMU on May 19 at home after Nolan Antonicci (2-4, 1 RBI) and Jack Thibeault (1-3, 2 RBIs) led the South Burlington offense. Ben Tate pitched a one hit game through five innings and earned the win while Jack Ambrosino secured the save.

Their next game is May 24 versus Essex.

Girls Lacrosse

The girls lacrosse team had a busy week of action with three games over a five day span. On Tuesday, May 15, the Wolves defeated Rice 18-10 after Dakota Crane’s six goals and two assists and Willow Yager’s five goals and one assist propelled the South Burlington offense. Joan Vera scored twice and Lindsey Booth (one goal and three assists), Lilly Truchon, Sabrina Redzic and Grace Hoehl all had two points for the Wolves. Claire Phillips made nine saves.

The next day, the visiting Wolves lost to CVU 13-3 as Hoehl, Vera and Kathryn DeMag scored single tallies.

The team found its form in Essex on Saturday as Yager’s four goals and Christina March’s three helped lead the Wolves to a 12-5 victory over the Hornets. Hoehl’s single tally (two assists) and four other South Burlington players scored once.

Boys Tennis

The boys tennis team was busy last week, completing four matches over three days.
