Jennifer Anne Long and Ian Phillip Squirrell were united in marriage June 10, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral in Burlington. The Rev. Fr. Kevin O’Brien of Heuvelton, New York, a dear friend of the Long family, celebrated the Nuptial Mass. Jennifer is the daughter of Deborah Tricase Long and the late Timothy M. Long of Massena, New York. Ian is the son of Ellen Pritting and Suzanne Stewart of Underhill and Trevor Squirrell and Linda Almy of Underhill Center. Tracy Bird, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Chris Piatek, brother-in-law of groom, was best man. Other members of the bridal party included Julie Chatterton, Jess Purvis, Lisa Long, Sarah Squirrell-Piatek, Melanie Squirrell, Cade Goodspeed son of the bride, John Summa, Jordan Shea, Timothy P. Long, and Zachary Long. Vaera Squirrell, daughter of the groom, was the flower girl, and Ari Schindler was the ring bearer. The couple was honored to celebrate with grandparents Wilfred Squirrell and Mary Tricase. Kristopher Squirrell, brother of the groom, was in their hearts all day. In memory of her late father, the bride carried one of his golf clubs in her bouquet- a #6 Wilson Staff, cut down to fit perfectly among her flowers by her brother, Zach.
The bride is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam and Vermont Technical College and is a board-certified RN III at UVM Medical Center in Burlington. The groom attended Johnson State College and is a branch manager at People’s United Bank in South Burlington. The couple honeymooned in London, England and reside in South Burlington.
