Mika Holtz received two Comcast Leaders and Achievers scholarships recently at the Vermont Statehouse. A student at South Burlington High School, Holtz was one of 12 high school seniors in the state to receive a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of the student’s community service, academic performance, and leadership skills. In addition, Holtz was awarded a $9,000 Comcast Founders Scholarship in honor of Ralph J. Roberts, founder and chairman emeritus of Comcast Corporation.

According to Comcast, their Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students who strive to achieve their full potential, who are catalysts for positive change in their communities, who are involved in their schools, and who serve as models for their fellow students.

“Our scholarship winners exemplify leadership and are committed to academic excellence and community service,” said Dan Glanville, Vice President of Government, Regulatory and Community Affairs for Comcast’s Western New England Region, which includes Vermont. “We are honored to recognize their achievements, and excited to support them as they continue their educational journeys.”
