H&M, Hennes and Mauritz Inc., one of the world’s largest fashion retailers, announced its first location in the state will be in South Burlington at the University Mall. The store is set to open in the fall of 2018.
Heather Tremblay, vice president of property and asset management for University Mall, said, “We are thrilled that H&M is opening its first Vermont store here at University Mall in South Burlington. The addition of this popular retailer continues the transformation the mall is experiencing after the 2017 opening of the South Burlington Public Library and the announcements of the 2018 opening of Target and expansions of Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works and Encore.”
The South Burlington H&M location will offer clothing, featuring collections for men, women, and teens, as well as the H&M Kids collection for newborns to 14-year-olds.
H&M will occupy 20,000 square feet, taking the place of the stores between Lenscrafters and into the food court, formerly Shoe Dept, Gap, Icings, Kay-Bee Toys, Subway, Taco Bell, Duncan Donuts and McDonalds.
Other changes at the mall include a move for Victoria’s Secret into the FYE space, and Shoe Dept. Encore taking the location vacated by Victoria’s Secret.
