Helping and Nurturing Diverse Seniors (HANDS) is offering their 12th annual holiday dinner on Christmas day. Both sit-down and delivered meals are available. HANDS, in collaboration with Age Well, the Burlington School Food Project, the Elks Lodge, and Temple Sinai among others, provides the dinner, which is free and open to the public.
“Our goal is to provide at least 300 meals and gift bags for older adults throughout Chittenden County,” explained HANDS Executive Director Megan Humphrey.
The holiday dinner will be held on Christmas day anytime from noon to 3 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 925 North Avenue, Burlington. There will be a special gathering at 1 p.m. for seniors. For those who are 50 or older and need transportation, call Megan Humphrey at 802-864-7528 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for arrangements.
To reserve a free meal, either ham or vegetarian lasagna, delivered to your home for anyone 50 years or older in Chittenden County, call Age Well at 802-865-0360 by December 16. After December 16, call Megan Humphrey at 802-864-7528 or email email@example.com.
