Field Hockey

The South Burlington field hockey team is back to back to back state champions after the Wolves defeated CVU 3-0 in the state championship game at UVM on Saturday, November 4. After a tight start, Emma Liebegott got the Wolves on the board with the help of passes from Emma Tolan and Joan Vera. The scoring continued five minutes later when Grace Hoehl pushed South Burlington to a 2-0 edge. Liebegott’s scoring wasn’t done as she propelled the Wolves to a 3-0 first half lead, striking with 3:16 to go in the half. South Burlington focused on playing a balanced game in the second half, and that’s just what they did, keeping the offensive pressure on the Redhawks and forcing them off their game. The Wolves avenged their only loss of the season with the victory, this one proving to be the more important game. Congrats to the state champions!
